Learn how to tint your Annie Sloan Waxes
Two things you’ll need to know here:
- Firstly, that Annie Slaon Waxes come in clear, white, brown and black can also be tinted to whatever colour you desire
- Secondly, that Mineral Turpentine (or Turps for us Aussies) removes wax!
We work so much with the lovely Annie Sloan waxes as a product to compliment our Chalk Paints, that we decided to have a go at making the wax the star attraction.
In this image, we started by painting our boards in a neutral Old White and then waxing the whole surface in our Dark Wax (brown). Then using a detail brush dipped in turps, we created our design by removing areas of dark wax.
We finished it with a coat of clear wax!
This image uses the same technique as the previous one, the big difference being that rather than using dark wax, we used clear tinted with some Amsterdam Green!
