Our pal, Julie, is a talented Resin Artist, and we’d been looking for a way to collaborate on a project. We just love the organic, fluid aspect of her work.

When we were commissioned to do a piece for a person very close to our hearts, who just happens to love the ocean, it provided the perfect opportunity to see what we could create with Julie.

Always keen to incorporate our Chalk Paints, we gave Julie some Aubusson Blue which she mixed with Pearlescent resin to create these stunning bespoke handles! Don’t they remind you of the sea!

Welcome to shed eleven

We’re a creative collaboration between sisters-in-law Jemma Wlasichuk and Fanny Clarsen.

shed eleven transforms and up-cycles furniture that would otherwise be overlooked or destined for landfill.

Our business educates and encourages you to do this yourself via our workshops, selling the eco-friendly Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® and spreading the message on furniture repurposing and upcycling.

From our workshop on Sydney’s upper north shore, we’ve restored hundreds of pieces during our two years in business. Our artistic and technical skills led to us being invited to be the Annie Sloan Painters in Residence in 2018.

We’ve gone back to our roots on this commission

We’ve gone back to our roots on this commission with a full timber refinish. Our client wanted it darkened with honey tones to compliment her bedside tables. After sanding right back we stained it in Walnut, then finished in a gloss Oil Varnish to bounce some light around. It’s a great trick of the eye when the timber has such natural colour variation. Swipe 👉🏼 for before.

It got us thinking about one of Jemma’s first jobs back in the early 90s at Balmain Strippers (that was a fun one to explain!😆), where she learnt all about stripping and refinishing furniture. The circle of life, eh?

We’ve fallen back in love with this cabinet since we gave the outside a wash of Annie Sloan Old White.

It was on our list to sell, but wow 😍, we now have to do a furniture reshuffle to slot it back in!

Lovely morning workshop helping transform a vintage bed head into a coat rack!

Our client used Annie Sloan Original for a base and added some interest using our hand carved lino to print in Emperors Silk and Arles. Finished with clear and dark wax and some lovely hooks that we salvaged from hard rubbish pick up.

Amazing what you can get done in a few hours 🙂❤️
